AANN, in partnership with YNPNdc (Young Nonprofit Professionals Network DC), is excited to announce upcoming follow-up dialogues based on our Voices of the Sector (VotS) event in September 2010. At the inaugural VotS event, AANN and YNPNdc hosted a facilitated community dialogue session designed to give Black and African American nonprofit professionals the opportunity to share perspectives and experiences while discussing challenges and creating solutions to some of the most pressing issues facing the nonprofit sector today. The event was very successful, with approximately 100 participants and lively discussion. We heard a request from members to continue the conversation with more intimate roundtable discussions. To continue the conversation, AANN and YNPNdc will invite Black and African American nonprofit professionals from across generations to share their experiences and perspectives; build community; and discuss strategies and solutions. Like the VotS event, these open conversations will be guided by an expert facilitator but shaped by the comments, questions and responses of the participants. We are excited about these events and look forward to continuing this engaging and energizing conversation with AANN and YNPNdc members. Stay tuned for information about dates, time and location!
