AANN is excited to announce our next upcoming event in partnership with YNPNdc (Young Nonprofit Professionals Network DC). YNPNdc is launching a new series known as Voices of the Sector (VotS) - a new opportunity for nonprofit professionals to come together to discuss important issues facing the nonprofit sector in and around Washington DC.

YNPNdc, along with relevant local, national and international organizations, will periodically host facilitated community dialogue sessions designed to give nonprofit professionals the opportunity to share perspectives and experiences while discussing challenges and creating solutions to some of the most pressing issues facing the nonprofit sector today. Voices of the Sector (VotS) events will range from large-scale community meetings to more intimate roundtable discussions. While special guests may be invited to set the stage and provide context around issues, participants will drive these events and generate the content. This is your opportunity to contribute your unique expertise and experience while helping to steer the dialogue around critical issues.

Inaugural Event:
To kick off the Voices of the Sector (VotS) Series, AANN and YNPNdc invite Black and African American nonprofit professionals from across generations to share their experiences and perspectives; build community; and discuss strategies and solutions. This open conversation will be guided by an expert facilitator but shaped by the comments, questions and responses of the participants.
Join us for a series of discussions focused around several important questions:

• Why is a racially and ethnically diverse nonprofit workforce important?
• What stands in the way of a nonprofit workforce that reflects the richness of our communities?
• What does the nonprofit sector need to do to attract, support, develop and retain nonprofit professionals of color?
• What can we do individually and collectively to create a more diverse and inclusive sector?
